Deion Sanders is back in Boulder, and in a press conference on Monday, it seems he will finally address the health issues that kept him away from Colorado all summer long.
Sanders will host a press conference on Monday with members of his medical team. The presence of his medical team at the PC does little to make worried Colorado fans feel better about his ability to coach the team this fall.

Colorado opens fall camp on Monday as it begins preparation for the 2025 season. Sanders' absence has cast a shadow over the program and prevented the Buffaloes from grabbing any real momentum on the recruiting trail.
Rumors have swirled for weeks about Sanders' future in Boulder. Some believe he could ultimately choose to leave over Colorado's more limited budget. Others believe his health issues are serious enough that they could lead to him walking away from coaching altogether, or at least taking a year-long sabbatical in hopes of getting back to 100%.
It's all speculation at this point, and Sanders will finally talk about it all on Monday. But the cryptic scheduling of the press conference on a Friday afternoon for Monday, and the presence of his medical team, certainly raises some alarm bells that this update isn't going to be as positive as Colorado fans are hoping for.

Coach Prime provided a positive update Friday morning with a post on his X account:
Back and Feeling Great!
— COACH PRIME (@DeionSanders) July 25, 2025
As uneasy as it may feel for Sanders to call a press conference with his medical team with him, it would be shocking to hear that he's not going to coach this season. He attended Big 12 Media Days in Frisco a couple of weeks ago and looked, and sounded, like a guy fully prepared to coach his team.
He has seemingly recovered well from whatever has ailed him, with encouraging videos and posts being made by him and his children. Coach Prime recently made the trip to Tampa to visit with Todd Bowles and observe Training Camp of the Buccaneers. His son, Shilo, signed with Tampa Bay as an undrafted free agent and is looking to earn a roster spot.
If Sanders were considering taking a year off, or worse, outright resigning his position, it would be interesting timing as fall camp gets ready to open. You would think if a decision like that was going to be made, he could have made it before now and wouldn't have bothered traveling to Boulder to make the announcement.
More likely, Sanders will provide the first real update on his health concerns, and then turn around and begin preparation for the season.
