There’s a reason Coach Prime gets the guys.
Just days after making a visit to Boulder, former Kansas State freshman Noah King made it official—he’s a Buff. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound defensive back, once a top-30 corner in the 2025 class, committed to Colorado on Wednesday, marking Deion Sanders' 10th pickup from the spring transfer portal window.

And I’m not shocked. Last week, I wrote that King was scheduled to visit Colorado, and it felt like a perfect fit from the jump. King had already been to Miami (Fla.) and had other stops planned—Miami (Ohio), Houston—but you know what happens when they come to Boulder.
Like Coach Mac would famously say, if you can get them to see Boulder, they won't want to go anywhere else.
King didn’t play a snap for K-State this spring, but that doesn’t mean he’s not ready to compete. At Hamilton High School in Ohio, he racked up 41 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, a sack, an interception, and four pass breakups his senior year. Physical, instinctive, and loaded with upside.
He’s one of four portal DBs joining the Buffs this summer, alongside John Slaughter (Tennessee), Teon Parks (Illinois State), and Terrance Love (Auburn).
Colorado’s secondary needed this. With Travis Hunter, Shilo Sanders, and Cam’Ron Silmon-Craig all gone to the NFL, plus depth pieces like Colton Hood and Savion Riley transferring out, it was getting thin. But now, it’s starting to look dangerous again.
Recruiting services had King as one of the best available DBs in the portal—ranked the No. 7 safety and a top-200 player overall. That’s a massive pickup this late in the spring cycle, and it bumps Colorado up to No. 20 in 247Sports’ transfer portal team rankings—above Alabama, believe it or not.
Will King start right away? That’s up to how fast he learns the system and adapts to the speed of Big 12 football. But this staff knows how to develop defensive backs, and King brings the kind of raw talent and swagger that fits exactly what Coach Prime is building in Boulder.
