In a few short hours, we'll know what has been ailing Deion Sanders this offseason and what the future might hold for the Colorado football coach. Any fans hoping for reassurance that he will not be announcing his resignation or a leave of absence were not given any comfort with a late-night social media post made by Coach Prime.

Sanders posted to his Instagram account on Sunday night with a video from May 9th that shows him talking to someone in what looks like a doctor's office. Prime states that he didn't know if he was ready mentally or emotionally, and mentioned that the night before, he had prepared his will. He also mentioned struggling to come to grips with the reality that he may not be here.

The whole video was posted to X, which you can watch below:

It's the first peek into what Sanders has been dealing with over the last few months. The Colorado head coach has been dealing with health issues for several years now, mostly due to blood clots that have required prior surgeries as well as the amputation of two toes.

His current health issues remain a mystery, but not for much longer. Coach Prime has a press conference scheduled this morning at 1pm ET with members of his medical team in tow to discuss "team and general updates." While the press release states it's just Prime's "first" press conference of fall camp, Sunday night's Instagram post has fans even more convinced that he could be stepping away from the program.

All eyes will be on Coach Prime's Monday press conference

There will be a ton of media attention in Boulder today as local and national media from all over will be tuned in to Sanders' press conference. While the press release didn't specifically mention that the PC would provide an update on his health, the presence of his medical team certainly alludes to that being the case.

Sanders dodged questions about his health a few weeks ago at Big 12 Media Days, and while videos posted by his son on social media have shown a more active Coach Prime, he mentioned recently he was "still going through something."

At the end of the day, as much as Colorado fans want to have Coach Prime on the sidelines this upcoming season, everyone understands his health is the top priority. If stepping away for a period of time, or permanently, is what it takes for him to lead a happy and healthy rest of his life, then so be it.
