1 key difference in The Denver Post's Sean Keeler's coverage of CSU and Colorado football
There's very key differences in the way The Denver Post's Sean Keeler -- one of the biggest names in the Colorado football stratosphere because of Deion Sanders' refusal to answer his questions -- covers the Buffs and the CSU Rams.
On one hand, Keeler has used the phrases “false prophet, Deposition Deion, Planet Prime, Bruce Lee of B.S., the Deion Kool-Aid” and “circus" to describe Coach Prime and the Buffs and hyped up a North Dakota State upset in Week 1 at Folsom Field.
On the other, Keeler believes Colorado State can join CU in the Big 12 or ACC, or at least get those conferences' attention, with a win over Texas in Week 1. As five-score underdogs in an away game at DKR Stadium in Austin. Against a team many project to be in SEC Championship contention by season's end.
That's no delusion. That's deliberate.
The Denver Post favors CSU over Colorado football in the Deion Sanders era
This isn't even the first time things have been skewed negatively in Colorado's favor but positively in CSU's. In late November ahead of Week 13, Keeler penned a piece titled “Jay Norvell’s CSU ain’t easy to find. But Unlike Deion Sanders’ CU Buffs, they ain’t hard to watch in November.”
Keeler called Coach Prime's program "hard to watch."
“CSU lost by 26 points at home to Washington State in Week 1,” Keeler prefaced before saying, “CU just lost by 42 to those same Cougars in Week 12. Discuss. Slow and steady doesn’t always win the race. Then again, what’s the point of being easy to find if you’re so dang hard to watch?”
Buffs fans, you cannot get worked up by The Denver Post's headlines. At least not Keeler's. It's accepted to be CSU propaganda at this point.
Instead, it's what happens on the field that should have any of your headspace.
