These six derogatory phrases about Deion got The Denver Post's Sean Keeler banned from Colorado football events
College football insider Brett McMurphy reported that the following six phrases got The Denver Post's Sean Keeler banned from having his questions answered by Deion Sanders at Colorado football pressers: “false prophet, Deposition Deion, Planet Prime, Bruce Lee of B.S., the Deion Kool-Aid” and “circus.”
The Denver Post reported Keeler's question banishment on August 23.
Coach Prime first went after Keeler during an August 9 press conference held on Sanders' 57th birthday.
"You don't like us man," Sanders said to Keeler. "Why do you do this to yourself? It would be hard for me to engage with someone I don't like. What did I do? What happened to get you like this?"
For what's it worth, Keeler admitted he had Sanders' verbal assault coming. Too little, too late with all of the negative and seemingly personal headlines.
Deion Sanders and Colorado football keeping tabs on things said about them
This wasn't the first and it won't be the last issue Sanders or his family has raised with the media.
Deion Sanders Jr. called Mike Farrell (of the Mike Farrell Sports brand) "b****-made" for constantly criticizing the family. Sanders hinted at legal action against Athlon Sports' Steve Corder for his bombshell exposé of the Buffs locker room that has yet to be corroborated by another outlet or strongly refuted by CU's brain trust.
More issues will surely be raised throughout the season, but that shouldn't be the focus with August 29 fast approaching. Sanders needs to worry about preventing a massive upset loss to North Dakota State that'd set a disastrous tone for the season.
Sanders is certainly building up the Buffs' brand in the Denver area with this scuffle, but it's hard not to accuse Coach Prime of going for clicks with this narrative.
The sooner the focus shifts to the actual games, the better.
