Isaiah Augustave exits the program out of nowhere

Just as spring ball starts rolling, Colorado lost its leading returning rusher, Isaiah Augustave. There wasn’t any warning — no transfer portal announcement, no explanation. He’s just... gone. That’s now two years in a row the Buffs have seen their top rusher leave before the season even starts (Dylan Edwards transferred to K-State last year). It’s a huge loss for the backfield, and unless a big-time replacement steps up, Colorado will be leaning on youth or the portal again.

Three more key players missing from spring roster

Augustave wasn’t the only name missing when the spring roster dropped. Edge rusher Keaten Wade, who came on strong late last season, is nowhere to be found. Safety Savion Riley — one of the more reliable defensive backs — is also gone. And tight end Sam Hart, who transferred from Ohio State, isn’t listed either. No one from the staff has explained their absences yet, but it’s clear this roster is still very much in flux heading into Year 3 of the Deion Sanders era.

Four-star corner Preston Ashley sets visit to Boulder

Four-star cornerback Preston Ashley will make his final official visit to Colorado in June. The Mississippi native is a physical, confident DB and has narrowed his choices down to the Buffs and Auburn. Keep your eyes on this one — that June 20 visit could be huge.

Shedeur Sanders to visit the Las Vegas Raiders

Colorado’s star QB Shedeur Sanders continues to make waves heading into the 2025 NFL Draft. The Las Vegas Raiders have officially scheduled a visit with Shedeur, despite having just re-signed Geno Smith. That meeting could mean the Raiders are looking at Shedeur as a future franchise quarterback. Coach Prime has already said the Raiders would be a great fit for his sons — now it’s looking more real by the day.
